Best Vegetarian – Panama City Beach See All Lists

My personal picks for VEGETARIAN restaurants in PCB. May include low option places but a particular menu item that shines.

  • Offers : Beyond Meat Chicken substitute for everything For the price/speed/quality - probably one of the better healthy options in PCB. Great for vegetarians/vegans due to the ability to sub Beyond Meat Chicken Strips to many of the menu - something that brings a smile to my face. The smoothies are fantastic and are fairly generous portions( I believe 22oz) - and the "Half and Half" seems to be the takeaway best deal. I will admit the speed of service isn't the greatest but I think it is at times understaffed based upon the customers in the store(sometimes just 2 workers and both needing to prepare) while leaving the counter unattended. That said, with better staffing(maybe go for 3+ on) - it would greatly bring the speed and service up to where it would need to be to match the quality of everything else. As it is now, I'd say a 4/5 is fair.
  • Great place! Was a little discouraged upon seeing some lower early reviews but at this point - they seem to got their act together! My whole wheat pancakes(healthy I believe it was on the menu) were generously sized and loaded with fruit. Topped with whip cream and powdered sugar, they were quite tasty but I definitely could not finish them on any day! Service was fast despite there being I believe one server for 5+tables at that time. Eating outside is always a nice plus at any restaurant and they have that also. Prices seemed quite fair.
  • No complaints about this restaurant. Seemed like pretty standard authentic/americanized Mexican food..meaning lots of cheeses and lighter/saltier tastes/less spice. I don't mean that in a bad way. The service was quick and the prices were great to the meal size. The bathrooms and restaurant seemed clean and spacious.
  • AWESOME Thai Food. My favorite so far between all my experiences of eating Thai food both locally and on vacation. Just was perfectly balanced between spice, flavor and a great variety of vegetables in the vegetarian yellow curry. The prices were cheaper than a lot of other thai places I've experienced which was also a plus! Service was quick(even though we were the only ones in there - it's still a GOOD thing) with appetizer and entree arriving very close together and quickly. A++
  • Update : The hibachi grill is very good. Surprisingly - NO TOFU! 🙁 Having gone to many various chinese buffets - I'd say this one is fairly in the middle, if not slightly above. Again, I can only speak for the non-seafood/meat options but they were good. The Inarizushi was great. The seaweed salad was great. The hot n sour soup was fairly typical but the offering of green onions as a garnish was a nice touch I haven't seen before. There was a couple things I've never seen available at other buffets that I enjoyed - The cheese mushroom(was cheese+cream cheese+mushroom) and the egg tart. Shockingly, there was no egg foo young or tofu ANYWHERE at the buffet which made it hard for me to really give it higher than 3 stars. Suggested Ma Po Tofu(w/o beef) or a safer mixed tofu/vegetables would be a nice option to at least provide a protein to vegetarians. If I could give it a half star, I would give it 3.5 out of 5 just for the quality of what I ate.
  • *Update* Sushi w cream cheese is a great vegetarian option. Avocado+Cream Cheese recommended. No complaints - solid service and food variety featuring chinese, japanese and even thai cuisine! I plan on exploring this menu more. It is one of the few places that also offer more variety to vegetarian sushi(the AAC and the peanut/avocado roll). I wouldn't say either stood out to me that much but it is at least going in the right direction. I plan on trying more of the chinese/thai menu and see how that stacks up to other restaurants. I wouldn't say it is the best I ever had but the service, prices, presentation and serving sizes brings it up to a 4/5. Stronger Menu Items : Sushi Weaker Menu Items : Singapore Mai Fun (Too salty) Red Curry(Probably all curries) - not very rich, very watery taste. It isn't BAD in a pinch but I wouldn't go here for curry over other thai restaurants.
  • This place deserves a solid 5/5 stars. The service and people working there are incredibly friendly and informative. The samples are generous and interesting. The prices are SOLID and make the rest of the beach look embarrassing for overpriced choices. The beer is HIGH quality and tastes like it was brewed with love. Raise your mug to this place - it deserves it. Happy hour = $4/16 oz brews 4-6PM at the time I write this.
  • Great little breakfast place. I ordered the mushroom/swiss/onion omelette and was given the wrong one but the issue was quickly remedied. On the weekend we went there was live music which was a nice touch. The flavors of the food were very strong and away from most types of omelettes I've had. We got a slice of the key lime pie to go which was also quite great.
  • Wanted to give this a shot for the Veggie burger. It tastes a bit like a garden burger patty(though not sure) which is not a bad thing. The variety of vegetables, sauces and cheese toppings are quite interesting. The sides include some very nice onion rings. There is a lot of prices that you need to pay attention to when ordering(extra charges here or there) if you are trying to eat on a budget. Overall, happy that they have a veggie burger with some actual effort put into it.
  • Gave this place another chance. The food this time was better although some of the old menu options I was looking forward to are gone such as the veggie burger or the bella wrap. The BLACK BEAN BENEDICT was a nice highlight of the meal. The tomatillo bloody mary was a huge disappointment(see picture I put up.) That's nearly a $9 bloody mary but its watered down by the time I get it. It really tasted more like 50% water/50% tomatillo - not the rich tomatillo juice pictured on the menu. A lot of the toppings pictured including the seasoned rim were missing.. The place was slow but to be fair - they were very busy from July 4th so I can't blame them for that aspect really. I'm still sticking with 3/5 but I think I'll continue to explore their menu from time to time.
  • Good stuff - It's at the top of the pack as far as "take out" chinese food to me. The seating inside is actually decent for this style of restaurant. The portion sizes were very impressive for the price and the food quality was high. For instance, I usually am unimpressed by Ma-Po Tofu at "take out" places as it is too safe and generally not very flavorful but this place actually had some spice and flavor. Fast and friendly service. About the only weird thing was Fox News was on.
  • The vegetarian broth here to me was remarkably unflavored compared to other vegetarian broths I've had locally or abroad. The actual ingredients in the soup were a mix of stew style carrots(probably not great for pho as they don't absorb much flavor), broccoli and tofu. The tofu was very excellent and the highlight of the pho. After the pho was loaded with the toppings and the fire started to grow from sriracha it worked out fine for me. I give a nod to the fact that they had a fairly full restaurant with both large/small parties but managed to keep up pretty well with everything. I hope to give this is a shot again - I am very interested in the bahn mi next time.
  • So, gave this place a second chance recently and increased from a 1* to a 3*. The food to me is average after having many similar experiences with mexican food(kinda how chinese take-out places are homogenized). The lacking areas on my first visit was the food(burned/overcooked) and service(very VERY slow-nearly an hour wait for food.) I would say that it was definitely an off-day as this time it was far more respectable(even with a fairly busy restaurant). Next I shall try the veggie fajita but the bean burrito/cheese enchiladas are both good choices.
  • Went with the safe cheese based option(gourmet grilled cheese- the one with cheese and apples) and it delivered. The apples were a strange addition but after a few bites, I enjoyed it. The bread was excellent and service was quick and friendly. The menu is exciting and interesting to explore and I look forward to future visits.
  • Great prices and large portions served. My Breakfast Hot Plate is something I've not had before at a breakfast place(I usually stick with pancakes) but I was very impressed. The prices and service were all very good. I hope to explore more of the menu for breakfast and also try the grilled cheese variations for lunch sometime. Only downside to lose my appetite is Fox News on the TV.
  • Last Visit : The new menu is a real downer. On the "pick 2", I can't pick the vegetarian sandwich option - HUH? Ended up getting a protein bowl which looked pathetically small for $8... == First visit : I've never ate at one of these before yet was surprised it seemed to be a rather large chain across the southeast/southwest and even northeast. I've always been a fan of Mediterranean food classics such as falafel, tahini, tziki sauce, pita brad, etc. This was a little different than such - kinda in my mind a blend of classic med but new menu items. I very much enjoyed the grilled pimento cheese sandwich. Prices were great and service was fast.
  • Fun fact - this place is about the same as Ketana. I'm not sure if they're the same owners but the menu is the same. That said, it's not a bad thing since I like Ketana but I was unaware of it until we dined in. I was not a fan of the vegetable spring rolls. They were strange to me compared to others I've had but I can appreciate the effort put into them and the presentation. The sweet and sour vegetables(with tofu) was quite good in my opinion - a great mix of sweet and tangy-ness. Prices are fine for what you'd expect at a place like this and the portion sizes. Service was prompt and quick turn around.
  • Been here a few times and plan on many more. I like the atmosphere, prices and drinks! There is an ever expanding amount of new recipes and drink ideas while having a nice core selection of coffees and teas.
  • Very good pricing and taste on the unique pancakes! Outdoor seating, fast service and clean bathrooms. I'm definitely going to come back and try more menu options next time I'm in PCB. I should have gotten a real drink over soda as the soda seemed slightly expensive.
  • It's hard for me not to love this place(or building). The outdoor seating is great(wear bugspray or bring it to be safe!) but the atmosphere is just over the top. The food we've had was fairly priced considering portion sizes and I'm assuming the detail taken into creating a healthy meal. Blackened Tofu w/ Side Salad+Beans&Rice thoughts - The tofu itself was very well done and a good portion. A fear I had is that it was going to be small or a single cutlet but it was a nice serving for a dinner. The side salad had a homemade balsamic that was quite good. The rice&beans were probably one of the weaker parts initially (maybe I'm too used to super salty kinds) but once I added hot sauce - it was good to go and was also quite good. A lot of people don't realize the wild root+gift shop are a completely different store/owner and combine the reviews for both but just throwing that out there(I like both). I will need to keep exploring the menu of this place - especially during lunch time. This is VERY vegan/vegetarian friendly but has menu options for everyone. Veggie Burger Review - I'd like to say this veggie burger was very good. It is not the best veggie burger I've had but it is definitely in the top 3. It is probably, however, the best vegan veggie burger I've had. It is definitely worth the lunch price - especially with some of the better side choices and great atmosphere.
  • So far so good. Liked the vermicelli bun with fried tofu! It's quite small - in fact, it seemed only 4 tables (and outdoor seating possible?). Seat yourself if you're dining in(when I was there!). I'd say this is definitely top 1-2 restaurants I've had vermicelli bun/tofu - great proportions of noodles to tofu and other toppings. I'm excited to try the pho next time I make it in.
